If Polina goes a whole day without using a Mental or Scientific skill, a random Affliction is applied to her at night. Note that her two traits track different skill categories (Physical / Survival rewards, Mental / Scientific required): avoid the penalty and grab the bonus in the same day by using at least one skill from each side.
